Day 29 results/Day 30 overview: In poem form.

Day 29 results:
Slowly, the results came in
And fans awaited in anticipation
Hanging on the edges of their seats
They waited without much patience

The first results to be announced
Was that of Tyrannia and Haunted Woods
The main event ended in a draw
But the points were under Tyrannia’s hoods.

Mystery Island and Altador were next
With Mystery Island taking the match
They lost the slushie slinging contest
Because Altador supporters sabotaged their batch

Shenkuu and Virtupets fans rejoiced
With victories from Faerieland and Kiko Lake
But both their goalies were distracted
By the offer of free faerie cake

The fans of Krawk Island and Brightvale
Wiped some sweat from their brow
Their side games were all lost
To the moon and the team with the Kau,

Roo Island gained near maximum points
As Moltara sold slushies to an equal amount
But gaining a maximum amount of points
Is all the Roos really care about

Darigan made short work of their rivals
Because Meridell seems to be slipping
For three days now Meridell has lost
And King Skarl is table-flipping

And the Maraquans got an ego boost
With a win over Terror Mountain
Though two games were lost
When Capt. Hughlis fell in the fountain

This is really a predictor’s dismay

Day 30 IM BACK!

Well, Back from my vacation. here’s a midnight write-up on the not-so-exciting results from yesterday

Surprising results from yesterday: DC beat MD. and KI beat KD, Nothing too spectacular.

Today’s Predictions:

Mystery Island vs Moltara: Moltara takes Slushie Slinger

Krawk island vs Altador: Altador takes slushie slinger

Shenkuu vs Haunted Woods: Haunted woods sweeps, But SK could pull an upset and take YYB.

Virtupets vs Maraqua: Virtupets takes YYB and MSN

Meridell vs Lost desert: Meridell NEEDS to sweep to get back into 1st tier. I expect them to get it.

Darigan Citadel vs Roo Island: DC needs a win to stay in 1st tier, But RI can pull upsets. I expect a draw in YYB.

Brightvale vs Terror Mountain: Brightvale takes slushie slinger.

Faerieland vs Tyrannia: Sweep for TY

Kreludor vs Kiko Lake: The kikos take a side game or two.

Matches to watch: DC vs RI, VP vs MQ

Day 28 results/Day 29 overview.

Day 28 results: I apologise for not posting this earlier, life got the better of me. Lost Desert proved they still have some firepower left in them, taking the spotlight away from the Brightvale/Mystery Island matchup, and the Krawk Island/Virtupets match up. Lost Desert did what Haunted Woods did to Virtupets, and more. Rather than a single draw in a sidegame, Lost Desert demolished Haunted Woods, winning all four games, surprising Haunted Woods supporters and Lost Desert supporters alike. Virtupets and Brightvale also came off happy chappies in their matches today. Brightvale defeated co-upsetter team Mystery Island with a yooyuball and slushie slinger win, and Virtupets defeated other top tier contender Krawk Island with a yooyuball and make some noise win.

Also taking the attention away from the big match ups today was the result of the Roo Island versus Meridell matchup. Meridell, who before their most recent match up with Maraqua, remained undefeated in Yooyuball since the early days of the cup. Could Meridell be sliding, and opening a position up to Darigan Citadel or Maraqua in the top tier? Or were they just having an off day. Meridell took home points from a win in Slushie Slinger and a draw in Shootout Showdown, the rest went to Roo Island. Terror Mountain got their revenge on Kiko Lake yesterday, winning the Yooyuball match, and the shootout contest, and making equal amounts of noise as Kiko Lake to earn a draw. Along with that draw, Kiko Lake took home a slushie slinging win. Kreludor had the exact same results as their match of the previous day against Lost Desert, except this time against Tyrannia. So, the Tyrannians took home Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, with Kreludor taking the rest.

Finally, Shenkuu, Darigan Citadel and Maraqua won their matches against against Altador, Faerieland and Moltara respectively, only losing points in the slushie slinging department.

Standings:
1. Virtupets
2. Kreludor
3. Krawk Island
4. Meridell
5. Darigan Citadel
6. Maraqua
7. Tyrannia
8. Terror Mountain
9. Haunted Woods
10. Roo Island
11. Kiko Lake
12. Brightvale
13. Lost Desert
14. Shenkuu
15. Mystery Island
16. Faerieland
17. Moltara
18. Altador

Today’s lineup:

Brightvale versus Lost Desert**
Mystery Island versus Altador
Faerieland versus Virtupets
Roo Island versus Moltara
Krawk Island versus Kreludor*
Terror Mountain versus Maraqua
Darigan Citadel versus Meridell*
Shenkuu versus Kiko Lake
Haunted Woods versus Tyrannia

Match of the day:

Despite two upper level teams facing off today, today’s match of the day once again focuses on Brightvale, except this time with Lost Desert. As Lost Desert proved yesterday, they have the potential to upset just as well as Brightvale can, but Brightvale is more consistent. A match win for Brightvale is expected, but Lost Desert could pack a punch.

Day 27 results/Day 28 overview.

Day 26 results: Team Mystery Island has always had a knack for upsetting teams ever since anyone can remember. Though their specialty is defeating Lost Desert, this year, they’re upsetting many different teams. This time, it’s 8th seed, Haunted Woods. Yesterday, Mystery Island defeated the Haunted Woods yooyuball squad to bring home a decisive match win. Also causing an upset today was Shenkuu over Terror Mountain. Terror Mountain has been faltering ever since their defeat to Kiko Lake, and Shenkuu is one of three teams (along with Lost Desert, and Brightvale) who are determined to get out of third tier. Larger teams against these three teams must pick up their game, or face upset. Kreludor faced a rather minor upset today at the hands of Lost Desert. Though many people wouldn’t regard this as an upset, the last time these two teams met, Kreludor left the match taking full points. This time, they lost two side games to the hands of the Desert supporters.

Meridell’s yooyuball streak was taken down by Maraqua (much to my pleasure, because Lost Desert still has the longest undefeated yooyuball streak hehe.),  In fact, Maraqua stole a majority of the points from Meridell, with Meridell only winning the slushie slinging contest, and drawing in the shootout competition. Also thrashing their upper level opponents today were Virtupets, who won all but the shootout competition against Tyrannia. Krawk Island supporters left feeling relieved, after taking come the yooyuball win, after a close match to Darigan Citadel. The remaining competitions were won by Darigan Citadel, making Darigan supporters pleased, but still lamenting their overall match loss.

Finally, Roo Island, Kiko Lake and Brightvale took home decisive victories over Faerieland, Moltara and Altador respectively.

Standings:
1. Virtupets
2. Kreludor
3. Krawk Island
4. Meridell
5. Darigan Citadel
6. Maraqua
7. Tyrannia
8. Haunted Woods
9. Terror Mountain
10. Roo Island
11. Kiko Lake
12. Brightvale
13. Lost Desert
14. Shenkuu
15. Mystery Island
16. Faerieland
17. Moltara
18. Altador

Predictions

Haunted Woods versus Lost Desert
Shenkuu versus Altador
Faerieland versus Darigan Citadel
Maraqua versus Moltara
Krawk Island versus Virtupets
Terror Mountain versus Kiko Lake
Roo Island versus Meridell
Brightvale versus Mystery Island**
Kreludor versus Tyrannia

**Match of the day:

Brightvale and Mystery Island are the two teams this year that have upset the most. Their Yooyuball squad, once could say are equal, but where the sidegames are, Brightvale reigns supreme. The real action here is the Yooyuball field. Which upset squad is the better upsetter?

Day 26 results/Day 27 overview.

Day 26 results: Today was a rather unspectacular day, full of predictable match ups, and where one team came over the favourites of the match, it was by a predictable margin. The most spectacular result today was that of Mystery Island versus Meridell. Where Mystery Island drew with the Meridell team, which was only a feat some of the larger teams could even hope of achieving. This year’s Meridell squad is a force to be reckoned with. Though its no surprise that out of any of the lower tier teams, it would be the unpredictable Mystery Island, who always knows someway to upset even the largest teams.

Faerieland upset their matchup, Lost Desert today also. But when you look at the odds, Lost Desert were only an extremely mild favourite for this match up, whereas in other years, the chances of Faerieland winning against this team would be close to getting struck by lightning. Unfortunately for Lost Desert, it is highly likely there will be many more years of mediocrity to come. It seems Faerieland’s new strategy of super defense, having even the forwards play defensively is paying off in their favour.

In another extremely mild upset was the yooyuball draw of Terror Mountain versus Haunted Woods. Haunted Woods, who recently ploughed the Virtupets squad were odds on favourites to take home the major points from this matchup, instead the matchup was decided through sidegames instead. Haunted Woods still reigning supreme.

Standings:
1. Meridell
2. Kreludor
3. Krawk Island
4. Virtupets
5. Darigan Citadel
6. Maraqua
7. Tyrannia
8. Haunted Woods
9. Terror Mountain
10. Roo Island
11. Kiko Lake
12. Brightvale
13. Lost Desert
14. Shenkuu
15. Mystery Island
16. Faerieland
17. Moltara
18. Altador

Today’s Matches:
Kreludor
versus Lost Desert
Brightvale versus Altador
Faerieland versus Roo Island
Kiko Lake versus Moltara
Tyrannia versus Virtupets
Terror Mountain versus Shenkuu
Darigan Citadel versus Krawk Island
Haunted Woods versus Mystery Island
Meridell versus Maraqua**

**Match of the day:

Meridell has been undefeated in Yooyuball for 22 days now, and the last team for have defeated Meridell was Maraqua. Though Maraqua’s squad is weaker this time around, it is possible that Maraqua will have the power to overpower Meridell once again. However, Meridell is much stronger, odds are Meridell are the clear winners.

Weekend results/Day 26 analysis.

Weekend results: So what a weekend to be away, eh? Let’s go through some of the highlights of this weekend.
Firstly, the ultimate shame. First place lost against last place. Moltara defeated Krawk Island with a single Yooyuball match. This, of course, is the ultimate fear for a top seeded team, and a shame no team should feel. Continuing on that, Roo Island wiped the floor with Haunted Woods, who then proceeded to do the same to Virtupets the very next day, with Haunted Woods winning all but one game against the spacey team. Also, Meridell cleaned up Kreludor yesterday, finishing three days of dramatic upsets.

Because I’ve had an exhausting day, this will be the end of the recap. I promise to make it up to you.

Standings:
1. Meridell
2. Krawk Island
3. Virtupets
4. Kreludor
5. Darigan Citadel
6. Maraqua
7. Tyrannia
8. Haunted Woods
9. Terror Mountain
10. Roo Island
11. Kiko Lake
12. Lost Desert
13. Brightvale
14. Shenkuu
15. Mystery Island
16. Faerieland
17. Moltara
18. Altador

Predictions:
Lost Desert defeats Faerieland
Altador defeated by Roo Island
Brightvale defeats Moltara
Kiko Lake defeated by Virtupets
Kreludor defeats Shenkuu
Tyrannia defeated by Krawk Island
Terror Mountain defeated by Haunted Woods
Darigan Citadel defeated by Maraqua
Mystery Island defeated by Meridell

Match of the day:
Today’s match of the day is that between the 5th and 6th seeded teams, Maraqua and Darigan Citadel. Recently, both teams have been faltering, both have been rather unpredictable. But I think Maraqua has that extra edge to push across.

Day 24 – “Niku to VSS, can you hear me?” “BRAAAAAINSSSS”

Note: Quotes from players, some situations and some reasons for losses are completely fictional. The results, however, are real.

“Niku to Virtupets Space Station, can you hear me? Over.”

“BRAAAAAAAAAAINNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSS!”

“Ok… Niku to Darigan Citadel, can you hear me? Over.”

“Ok class, the square root of Pi is… yes Layton?”

“It is… 2?”

“NO! INCORRECT! AS SQUEAKY, I SHALL MAKE YOU SIT IN THE CORNER!”

“Aww maaaaaaan!”

“. . .  /disconnects”

With very little communication to those 2 Neopian locations, I do not yet know their AC Results. Therefore, they will only come in when I get them.

Pirate vs Ninja battles ending with Pirate victory? Terror Mountain draws Faerieland in both Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger? Unknown results from Darigan and the Robo HQ? How very… interesting!

I’m Niku, your reporter for today, giving you your results for Day 24.

Oh wait… what’s that? A note from… Virtupets, is it? Yes it is. It’s all written in CSS. Thank you.

It appears we now have out results for the Virtupets vs Haunted Woods match!

In a surprising turn of events, Haunted Woods almost swept Virtupets off their feet, taking a win in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Shootout Showdown! This left just Make Some Noise, but both teams were screaming so loudly, it stayed held at a draw. This sad, sad loss has now brought Virtupets into 4th place, but as long as they stay in the top tier, things can’t be too bad.

In the very first match of the day was the legendary Pirate vs Ninja Battle between Krawk Island vs Shenkuu. After yesterday’s KI defeat by the volcanoes, the Pirates marched into the cup and played each game their very hardest. This earned them a win in both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. When the ninjas entered the arena, there was only room left for a draw in Slishie Slinger and Make Some Noise. “Well, they deserved the win I guess.” Xana DiLanche, Shenkuu’s goalkeeper, comments. “We actually left our Ninja Stars at home, so we were doomed from the start!”

In the second match of today, we had Terror Mountain vs Faerieland. Now, Faerieland is sadly always associated with being sweeped. Even though they barely get sweeped anymore, they still are associated with that. Anyway, so the last time Faerieland faced off with Terror Mountain, they were… sweeped. This time, the Faeries weren’t going to allow any of that. They marched straight onto that Yooyuball field and… were able to hold a draw against the stronger Eskimos! They marched straight into that Slushie Slingin’ fast-drink joint and also held a draw against Terror Mountain! That worried the Eskimos. “What if we have a DDDD against Faerieland?” they said. So, they went and won both Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown for their homeland. This gave Terror Mountain the overall win, with a DDWW.

Only 1 team was sweeped today, and that team was Altador. Kreludor pwned all 4 games, leaving no room for an Altadorian victory. But why a sweep? Coco Metrone, one of Kreludor’s defenders, says “When we entered the field, they were laughing at the ‘Lunar Buddies’ nickname Niku gave us yesterday! I thought it was cute, but they thought it was hilarious! That made all of us mad… and, well… you don’t want to see grundos get mad…”

Today, Maraqua faced off against Lost Desert. With Yooyuball being the Maraquan’s best game, they won that with no problem whatsoever. When it came to the side games… then it started to get tough. In Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, Lost Desert left no room for the fishies as they dominated both those games. Slushie Slinger was held to a draw. However, this still gave Maraqua the win, so it was good on Elon’s ego at the end of the day.

Tyrannia was also facing off with Kiko Lake as well. Tyrannia, being dominate at Yooyuball, won that game with no problem. Since dinosaurs are also naturals at Slushie Slinger, that was a Tyrannian victory as well. With lots of room still in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, Kiko Lake was able to take it and throw it out the window. With their scores. Not actually pick up the game and… nevermind. Onto our next result!

Meridell and Moltara were next to face off. Last time this happened, Meridell walked away with a sweep. But the Moltarians remembered this crucial fact, and weren’t going to let it happen again. Instead of trying their luck in Yooyuball against the stronger Meridell, the steampunks just stuck to Make Some Noise, and pulled a win in that game! The Meridellians, however, say that Moltara wasn’t bothering at any other game, so took those games and won. This gave Meridell the overall victory.

In one of the last matches of the day, we had Roo Island vs Mystery Island. When both teams entered the cup, they got right to work at the side games, totally forgetting about Yooyuball. Mystery Island went to Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, and claimed 2 wins. Roo Island went to Slushie Slinger, and claimed a win in that area. So far, Mystery Island was in the lead. But who would win the day’s match? Finally, their Yooyuball match occurred. Both goalies refused to let a single yooyu in, ending the game with a 0-0. This earned them a draw (Not a creepy face) , and Mystery Island their win.

So, that marks the end of…

Wait, what? Oh, so then… What? Oh, ok!

It appears we have the results for the Brightvale vs Darigan Citadel match! DRUMROLL PLEASE!

When Brightvale and Darigan Citadel, it was expected that Darigan would take Yooyuball while the scholars would sweep the side games. What happened was… the exact opposite. Yes, Brightvale won the game of Yooyuball, while Darigan Citadel swept the side games! This gives Brightvale the win! But… how did the predictions and results get flip-flopped? “I’m not entirely sure myself!” Montecito, one of Brightvale’s defenders, said. “Which is wierd, considering I’m from Brightvale, the land of brains. Anyway…”

“BRAAAAAAAAINNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS”

“Augh! Brightvale, RUN!”

“BRAAAAAAAAINNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS”

o_____o

What an… err… interesting day it was today! Certainly not what any of us expected!

But today is a new day… Day 25 to be exact. With only a few weeks left in the Altador Cup, how will the rest of the days turn out? How will Day 25 turn out?

Play for your Yooyuball team today and come back tomorrow and find out!

This is your reporter, Niku, and I’m signing off!

Day 23 – Krawk Island in Flames and Moltarian Domination!

Note: Quotes from players and some reasons for losses are completely fictional. The results, however, are real.

Krawk Island in flames? Moltarian domination? Ninjas with SPF 5000? Dinosaurs going to the Ice Age? Wow, what a day! This day will most certainly go down in history, as “The Legendary Day 23!”

I’m your reporter, Niku, and these are your official results.

In the first and most upsetting of all today’s matches, we had Krawk Island vs Moltara. Now, when you see a match like this, you automatically think “Lol Sweeeeeeep” , and to be honest, that’s exactly what I thought. And did Krawk Island sweep? Almost.

Krawk Island won in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown, leaving quite a shocker, considering those side games are Moltara’s best games. It was either all or nothing as the Moltarians marched out onto the field. Mor Gollog, Moltara’s goalie who earned the nickname “Abs”, refused to let a single yooyu into the net, while Tulah (Known to Moltarian locals as “Ylana”) played a strong game and scored a whopping 12 goals! This gave Moltara their 3rd ever victory in Yooyuball, their first ever upset, and their first win against a top tier team! When interviewing “Ylana” Kisner, she said, “I’m actually quite surprised myself. After yesterday’s win in Slushie Slinger, we decided to come in today all powerful and ready to play a tough game. And it turns out, we did! Though there’s no more time for party because today’s Yooyuball match is in 5 minutes!”

Shenkuu and Lost Desert were next to face off on Day 23. Shenkuu pulled ahead early on in the game and was able to win the Yooyuball match of the day, automatically giving them the win. Lost Desert was able to win Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, while both teams held a draw in Shootout Showdown. “Last time we played Shenkuu, we lost as well, with a LWLD”, Luvea Trivon comments. “But this time, we pulled a LWWD! We’re improving!”

In one of the most watched matches of the day, Tyrannia vs Terror Mountain, both teams were equally matched. Last time, Terror Mountain took the win. But how did today’s match turn out?

An almost sweep by Terror Mountain.

The eskimos were able to beat the dinosaurs in Slushie Slinger (What the Tyrannians do best) , Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown. For Yooyuball, however, it was a Tyrannian victory. Even though Terror Mountain swepty the side games, the Yooyuball loss gave Tyrannia a victory.

“They crushed us”, Rinok Fitel, Terror Mountain’s defenseman says. “No, really. They crushed us. I don’t know how it wasn’t a foul, but their captain, Loryche, actually sat on us while the rest of their team scored.” Rinok then shook his head and added, “The experience was rather… interesting.”

Unlike yesterday, only 1 sweep took place today. The Knights of Meridell totally swept the Faeries of Faerieland by winning every single game. “I don’t know, our FLUFF usually works on the team we’re up against.” Delma Harrence, Left Defender of Team Faerieland said. “I guess we totally forgot that the Meridellians have a suit of armor and cannonballs!”

Roo Island versed Haunted Woods today. The Rooligans took Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown and won each game, already giving them eternal bragging rights. This left Slushie Slinger wide open for the Zombies to dominate. But why the loss in yooyuball? “Haunted Woods got fouled multiple times for trying to eat Roo Island’s brains; AGAIN!” The referee complains. “This is getting quite annoying. Why can’t they verse a team without brains already?!?”

In the Virtupets vs Altador Match, Virtupets won in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, almost a repeat of what Roo Island did earlier in the day. However, instead of Altador getting the win in Slushie Slinger, it was held to a draw.

In the Mystery Island vs Kiko Lake match, the stakes were set for Kiko Lake to get the win. However, Mystery Island came out of nowhere and dominated Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger! “When Niku says nowhere, she literally means nowhere.”, ‘Poke’ Cellers, Kiko Lake’s captain comments. “They must’ve had LOTS of training at that Ninja School of theirs, because they just poofed out of nowhere and started scoring goals on us!” The Lakers (No, not the LA Lakers xD) played a strong game, and was able to pull a win in Shootout Showdown and a draw in Make Some Noise.

Speaking of Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, in the match between Maraqua and Brightvale, the fishies pulled a win in those 2 side games (Which were Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown if you weren’t paying attention) . The scholars showed how strong they were and weren’t gonna take ‘no’ for an answer, and forced a draw in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. This still gave Maraqua the win, and yet another oceanic victory. A maraquan fan screams, “WAIT UNTIL MAMA WHALE HEARS ABOUT THIS! I’LL BE ABLE TO GET MY SHARE OF KRILL FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH!”

In the last match of the day, we had 2 top-tier worthy teams; Kreludor vs Darigan Citadel. The lunar buddies were predicted to win, and they did! They pulled a win in Yooyuball and a draw in Slushie Slinger, and although that gives them the win, Darigan Citadel still pulled the win in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.

Here’s the Listed Results (With the Winner in Bold) :

Moltara vs Krawk Island

Lost Desert vs Shenkuu

Tyrannia vs Terror Mountain

Meridell vs Faerieland

Roo Island vs Haunted Woods

Virtupets vs Altador

Mystery Island vs Kiko Lake

Kreludor vs Darigan Citadel

What will Day 24 have in store? (Dr. Seuss moment!) Play for your team today, and tomorrow we’ll find out!

Day 22 Results

Ok, so I had the entire results from yesterday all typed up, all pretty, and a pretty long article explaining in depth how each team placed. I was about to publish it when… the entire article gets mysteriously erased by WordPress! 😦

I have no time to retype the whole thing and play my share of Altador Cup today, so I’m promising you an amazing article tomorrow full of pizazz and even better then what I was planning for today.

Anyway, I have no type to retype all the results, so I’m going to be lazy and take a screenshot of TNT’s results page (Note – I’m Maraqua, so my matches will be first, respectively)

Here are the results of Day 22 of Altador Cup VI!

One notable match result I’d like to point out is Brightvale vs Faerieland. Place-wise, these 2 teams are almost evenly matched. Even so, we all probably know how Brightvale can sweep a top-tier team if they really set their minds to it. However, Faerieland was able to pull a draw in three different games against Brightvale, including Yooyuball! Though Brightvale still won the match, I’d like to congratulate Faerieland on a nice job well done.

What will Day 23 have in store? Play your games today, and tomorrow, we’ll find out!

This is Niku, signing off!

Notice of absence

I’m extremely sorry everyone.

Until Sunday, I will be absent. Again I will be out of town. I just have enough time to quickly write this little notice up. As you know, the end of the weeks are very busy for me in real life, as my two jobs practically coincide with each other, which is why I have no article today (I’m exhausted). I apologise for my absence.

Very sorry,

Tails.
